AD-5CE is one of two novelties introduced into the Arcos series for 2013. The other one is the AO-5CE with orchestra body. AD-5CE is a dreadnought. It`s a full-sized dread with deep body and powerful tone. Construction-wise, this one is an acoustic-electric and features Fishman electronics installed within and on the body. Presys Plus system is installed and the side-mounted preamp is it`s main feature. It has volume and tone controls along with a built-in tuner. Body of this stunning dread is made of laminated rosewood back and sides with solid sitka spruce top. Back panel of the body is arched, while the top is completely flat. This concept was introduced by Guild back in the 1950s, but it was dropped in favor of flat top- flat back guitars. In recent years, this concept has been revived through the Arcos series. White binding and black pickguard decorate the top. Bridge section is a standard one for this series and it features a belly-contoured bridge made of rosewood. Neck is made of mahogany, it`s standard shaped and attached to the body with a dovetail joint. It`s topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Ping tuners on the headstock are plated in chrome.
