Olympic is a member of the brand new Masterbilt Century series, made by Epiphone. The entire series has been inspired by the original 1930s archtop guitars, from which it takes design and aged hardware and paint. Also, dovewing headstocks and longitudinal bracing echo the long-gone golden age of the acoustics. While largely similar to the rest of the Masterbilt Century models, Olympic has the smallest body of them all and its own color palette: Honeyburst and Violin Burst. Both color options have aged gloss finish and aged hardware. Olympic is the most affordable model of the series, with the price tag set at $599. Olympic is an archtop guitar with a small body, standard 25-1/2" scale and "f" holes instead of the regular, circular soundhole. Back and sides are made of laminated flamed maple and the top is solid spruce. The neck is made of hard maple and mahogany (5-ply neck). 14th fret dovetail joint and rounded C profile are found in the back, while a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard sits on top. Series` standard electronics unit sports a Shadow NanoFlex piezo pickup and eSonic HD preamp. Other major features include a floating bridge (w/trapezoid tailpiece) and vintage Epiphone tuners (w/marboloid "crown" buttons).
