PCBE12MH is one of two acoustic bass updates Ibanez has introduced at this year`s NAMM. It comes with a standard grand concert body contours, which are one of the two most prominent contours in the acoustic guitar section (with the other one being dreadnought). Relatively compact grand concert body contours indicate this is a short-scale bass and, indeed, the PCBE12MH rocks the 31-9/10" scale. Body of this model is made entirely of mahogany (back, sides and the top are made of mahogany), which is combined with the classic X bracing. The result is a tremendously strong and solid, warm tone. Simple black binding and tortoise shell pickguard decorate the top of the body. Open Pore Natural color scheme is the only one for this model. Rosewood bridge is fit with an under-saddle piezo pickup and plastic saddle. Ibanez AEQ202T preamp completes the electronics. Neck on this model is made of mahogany. It rocks the series standard contour in the back and a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood on the top. Chrome-plated die-cast tuning machines complete the specs list.
