RA-998 Recording King Metal Body Resonator Mandolin is a mandolin-sized resonator guitar. It rocks a minute mandolin body (A-style), short mandolin scale, eight tuning pegs (and strings), plated headstock, and 18 frets. The resonator side of the family contributed a metal-made body (nickel-plated bell brass on back, sides, and top), 10" Recording King cone w/Diamond coverplate, and 12th fret dovetail neck joint. There are no "f" holes characteristic of metal resonators, due to the size of the insturment. Nickel-Plated Bell Brass is the only available color option (dark brown neck w/satin finish, nickel-plated tuners, bound fingerboard). Other notable features include a mahogany neck, 18-fret padauk fingerboard (1-5/16" nut, dot inlays), hard maple bridge, and nickel-plated tuners.
