Squier Updates Classic Vibe Jazz Bass `60s

Squier refreshes one of the most important four-stringers in their catalog.

Squier Updates Classic Vibe Jazz Bass `60s

The only Jazz Bass in the Classic Vibe series is being updated. Squier renewes the four stringer made in honor of the first decade of Jazz`s production.

The new version of fender.com features a completely new take on the catalog which is even more focused on the model families, instead of series. Series are thought of more in a sense of tiers and classes, which resonates with general trends among the top brands today. A really cool thing is that each and every model family, or Fender`s distinctive body shape has been described in a word, or two, or even short phrases on the introduction page. Precision`s Pure and Powerful, Dimension represents the New Generation. Jaguar is described with The Greatest Hits tag and Mustang`s creed is Short Scale, High Standards. Jazz bass has been described with the following words: Versatile Voice. Probably the truest words ever said about the miracle that is Jazz Bass. Back in 1961, it was introduced to infuse some fresh blood into the bass catalog and to offer the players an alternative to already old Precision. Right off the bat, Jazz Bass scored big time, quickly becoming an equal half of the Precision/Jazz duo which dominates the four-string world even today. Over the course of the years, Jazz Bass palette diversified significantly and in recent years affordable Squier versions have become available. Among them Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified models took the lead. Brand new Classic Vibe Jazz Bass `60s replaces the old model of the same name, bringing refreshed tone and visuals, while retaining the classic construction.

Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass `60s comes with a solid, double-cut body made of basswood, lining up along with the vast majority of the current Squier electric instruments lineup. Classic offset design with a flat top and bolted neck is still the main feature of the Classic Vibe `60 JB. Hi Mass bridge and a pair of single-coil (jazz) pickups are featured on the top, along with a white  pickguard(Olympic White has a tortoise one). Inca Silver and Olympic White make up the color palette. Both come with gloss finish and chrome hardware. Maple neck has a modern C profile and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
