New Gibsons for Summer 2014

Gibson introduces two Flying V models, one signature, one 120 series model, two USA LP models, two SGs, one double-neck and one acoustivc-electric dreadnought.

Year 2014 marks 120 years of Gibson`s presence in the business and, accordingly, Gibson is launching a line of electric guitars in the name of this rare and huge milestone. Twelve decades of legacy are being marked with a range of guitars which feature a clever mix of the finest vintage appointments with a bright look into the present and future of Gibson Guitars. Models introduced into the 120 series this time are: SG Standard 120, Les Paul Standard 120 Light Flame Top, Les Paul Traditional 120 Flame Maple Top and Flying V History. A limited edition replica of the cult EDS-1275 and Brendon Small Snow Falcon Flying V are also introduced. J-45 Standard is the only acoustic guitar introduced this time.

Gibson USA Flying V History opens up the review section of this article with a set of classic Flying V features and the 120th Anniversary series characteristic embellishments. Solid mahogany body, oval mahogany neck, two-piece bridge unit, active Gibson humbuckers with bucket-loads of strength and sustain, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and Grover tuners are featured on this one. Gibson USA  Les Paul Traditional 120 Flame Maple Top is one of two LP models being introduced into the 102th Anniversary series. It rocks the classic mahogany/flame maple construction of the body and a mahogany/rosewood combination on neck and fingerboard. Add gorgeous flamed maple top, 1959 Tribute pickups and Tonepros tuners and you`ve got yourself a thoroughbred LP killing machine. Gibson Custom EDS-1275 Is the only Gibson Custom model  among these seven axes. It represents the most accurate recreation of the original 1958 EDS-1275 up to this very date. Solid and flat mahogany body, two mahogany necks, four active Gibson pickups with belonging controls units and two 20-fret rosewood fingerboards are featured on this model. Gibson USA Les Paul Standard 120 Light Flame Top is pretty much your regular Les Paul Standard. The main difference is this one comes in the Honeyburst color with three grades of quality of the flamed maple top. A+, AA and AAA are offered. Gibson USA J-45 Standard is the new workhorse acoustic-electric guitar made for all the players from amateurs who just want a quality guitar, to hard working professionals who seek their song writing, touring and recording companion in one acoustic-electric guitar. Gibson USA  Brendon Small Snow Falcon Flying V is the only signature model of the bunch. It is dedicated to Toki Wartooth of Dethklok, or more precisely, to Brendon Small, the man behind the Metalocalypse. This is your regular no corners cut, no filler added V, it rocks a mahogany body, set in mahogany neck, standard set of active Gibson pickups and a 22-fret fingerboard. Gibson USA  SG Standard 120 is the seventh and the last model to be reviewed in this article. Basically, this is your regular SG Standard guitar with 120th Anniversary series inlay a the 12th fret and a special inlay on the headstock. Solid and flat mahogany body in Heritage Cherry color, rounded neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and the standard two-piece bridge unit are featured on this hard rocking devil.
