In this article, we`ll take a look at what`s new in Washburn catalog.

NAMM 2015: Washburn Updates

With six regular acoustics, one acoustic travel-sized guitar and one metal axe, Washburn puts the acoustic side of the catalog under the spotlights this year.

Washburn Guitars is one of the premier brands of acoustic instruments, not just in America, but around the world. With more than a century long tradition, Washburn is among the selected few makes which saw two turns of a century, along with Gibson, Martin and a few others. This year`s catalog updates, though few in numbers, paint Washburn`s diversity very well. Six of eight models are regular acoustics, three are dreadnoughts and three are vintage parlors. One model is a simple, affordable travel-sized acoustic, while the final eighth model is a six-stringed metal axe. All three dreadnoughts are introduced into the affordable Woodcraft series - WCSD30S, WCSD42S and WCSD50S are their names. Parlor series updates are WP26SENS, WP21SENS and WP11SENS. RO10E is the only Rover series update, while the Marzi Montazeri Priestess carries the banner of the electric six-string division.

The first on the menu, we have the simple and affordable WCSD30S in a non-cutaway dreadnought form with a natural satin finish. This fully acoustic dread rocks the mahogany/spruce body with wooden rosette and solid top, mahogany neck with a maple fingerboard and chrome hardware. For further info, check the WCSD30S detail page on our site or Washburn Guitars official web site.

WCSD42S is the second of three Woodcraft models introduced for 2015. Solid spruce sound board with spruce bracing, and spalted maple on the sides and in the back make up the body of this model. Mahogany neck is attached through a 14th fret dovetail joint and has a rosewood fingerboard on top. For further info, check the WCSD42S detail page on our site or Washburn Guitars official web site.

WCSD52S comes with koa sides and back, as well as with a solid Sitka spruce sound board with spruce bracing. Series standard mahogany neck is attached at the 14th fret and fit with a rosewood fingerboard on top. This is the new flagship model of the affordable Woodcraft line. For further info, check the WCSD52S detail page on our site or Washburn Guitars official web site.

Parlor series is becoming richer for three new models in 2015 and WP26SENS Is the highest ranking among them. It comes with a rosewood/spruce body with spruce bracing, mahogany neck with a two-way truss rod, 18-fret rosewood fingerboard with 19th century inlays and Fishman Sonitone electronics. For further info, check the WP26SENS detail page on our site or Washburn Guitars official web site.

With a specs list identical to the WP26SENS, save for the 19th century decorations and spruce top (this one has a solid cedar top), WP21SENS represents the intermediate option among the three Parlor series models introduced for 2015. For further info, check the WP21SENS detail page on our site or Washburn Guitars official web site.

WP11SENS is the most basic of the new Parlor series trio. It is a simple and modest parlor guitar, with vintage styling and series standard construction features. It has a non-cutaway body with rosewood back, mahogany sides and a spruce top, mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and Fishman Sonitone electronics. With the new RO10E, Washburn offers a travel-sized guitar with an excellent price/quality ratio for all the players out there who are on the constant move. Marzi Montazeri`s white-clad PXZMM2FR Priestess model comes with a solid, single-cut (Explorer-like) body made of mahogany, set in neck also made of mahogany, original Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo, custom wound Duncan pickups with simple controls and a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
