NAMM 2015: Ibanez Solid Electrics

With nine models spread across five ranges, Ibanez shows very serious intentions for 2015, covering a huge palette of styles and genres.

With NAMM show approaching fast, Ibanez has decided to treat the fans with an early insight into the 2015 lineup of electric guitars by unveiling both the solid and hollow-body novelties for this year. Out of total of 26 electric guitars featured as the novelties, only nine of them belong to the standard segment of the catalog. As expected, the range with the most updates is, of course, RG, with three. Road Core and GRG (GIO version of the RG) come with two models, each, while the FR and Iron Label`s ARZIR series receive one model, each. RG models are RG927WZCZ (Premium), RG970WQMZ (also Premium) and RG421EX (RG Fixed). Road Core Prestige debuts with RC1320, while the Premium kicks off with a seductive RC720. GRG line welcomes the GRG121DX and GRG121SP. FR365 goes to the standard FR range, while the Iron Label ARZIR series hails the brutal eight-string ARZIR28.

The mighty RG, the world`s most popular metal guitar line is rocking only three novelties for 2015 NAMM and Ibanez RG927WZCZ is one of them. As a Premier class guitar, this 927WZCZ has all the fine and upscale features reserved for it`s models. Solid basswood body with ziricote top, five-piece wenge/bubinga neck, IBZ 7 humbuckers and a mandatory 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. With RG Premium, players around the world have a semi-luxurious option which incorporates some of the Prestige tier features, while still remaining well within the grasp of the working player. Ibanez RG970WQMZ comes with a solid and double-cut body made of basswood and quilt maple, while the neck is wenge/bubinga five-piece. DiMarzio IBZ pickups, Edge tremolo and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard complete the basic specs. Three-piece maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard rounds off the basics for the new RG workhorse.
