Out of eight novelties, Ibanez has unveiled two electric basses, four electric guitars, one vintage acoustic model and one modern acoustic-electric guitar with exotic tonewoods.

When you have one of the most massive catalogs in the entire guitar industry that covers virtually all walks and avenues of stringed music, work never stops and there is no off-season. September 2015 issue of the Ibanez newsletter magazine Plugged in brings an eclectic set of novelties. Introduced models range from pure metal beasts from Iron Label and Mick Thomson signature series, through fan-fretted SR basses to vintage and modern acoustics of the Artwood and AEW series. Also, one AM series semi-hollow made into the September 2015 issue. Iron Label`s share includes RGIX20FESM and RGIX27FESM. Mick Thomson`s signature line receives renewed MTM1. Super affordable AM53 semi-hollow will shake things up in $300 range while the marvelous SRFF805 and SRFF806 aim at adventurous bass players. AVNZ15LTD is the only fully acoustic model while the AEW15LTD1 is the only acoustic-electric guitar introduced this time.

Ibanez RGIX20FESM kicks off the review section. It is RGIX series` newest six-stringed metal beast with a double-cut RG body (basswood/spalted maple top) and bolted Wizard Nitro neck. Ibanez RGIX27FESM is the same as the previous model, but with seven strings. Basswood/spalt maple body, maple/bubinga Wizard Nitro neck and EMG ballistic cannons are featured on this model as well. Foggy Stained Blue and Foggy Stained Black are found in color palette (shared with RGIX20). Ibanez MTM1, second of its name is the third offering on September menu. This black-clad destroyer comes with a mahogany-made RG body, through-body Wizard neck and Seymour Duncan Blackouts. 24-fret fingerboard with the legendary SEVEN inlay and locking bridge system are also there. Ibanez AM53 is a super affordable semi-hollow guitar with a sapele body and mahogany neck. Three color options are available – Sunburst Red Flat, Transparent Black Flat and Tobacco Flat. Ibanez electronics, two-piece bridge and die-cast tuners make up the future champion of under-$300 class. Switching over to the SR series turf, first we find the five-stringed SRFF805. FF stands for fanned frets and compound scale length 24”-35.5” in this particular case). Mono Rail bridge system and slanted Bartolini pickups are featured on the SR body made of ash. Ibanez SRFF806 is the six-string version. Fanned frets, slanted pickups and Mono Rail bridge system are featured on this one, too. Ibanez AVNZ15LTD is one of two acoustic models and one of two limited edition models in September 2015 Plugged In lineup. Gorgeous ziricote/spruce body, mahogany neck and 18-fret rosewood fingerboard make up this charming New Yorker. Artwood Vintage series really nailed it this time. Ibanez AEW15LTD1 rocks a single-cut AEW body made of flamed maple and spruce. Beautiful mosaic rosette made of wood, combined Fishman/Ibanez electronics with a chromatic tuner and black/chrome hardware are among the premium features of this limited edition AEW flattop.
