Gretsch Celebrates 130 Years in Business

Gretsch launches six exclusive six-stringers to celebrate 130 years in business. Three Professional Collection and three Electromatic Collection models are featured.

Fifty years in the guitar business is comparable to a millennium, while the century borders on the terms like era and eon. From the cryptic period of guitar making and guitar business, comes the one and only, Gretsch, a brand which has managed to stay around for 130 years. 2014 is the anniversary year and to properly celebrate this huge jubilee, Gretsch has launched an exclusive 130th Anniversary series. It is made up of six models, three from the Professional Collection and three from the Electromatic Collection. Their names are: G6139CB Falcon Center Block Single Cutaway, G6139T-CBDC Falcon Center Block Double Cutaway and G6137TCB Panther Center Block on the Professional Collection side and G5622T-CB Electromatic Center Block, G5620T-CB Electromatic Center Block and G5655T-CB Electromatic Center Block on the Electromatic Collection side.

Gretsch G6139CB Falcon Center Block Single Cutaway has a semi-hollow and single-cut body made of maple and spruce (maple back, sides and top, spruce center block), a set in maple neck, faithful Filtertron pickups and a vintage-styled bridge section. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and Grover tuners are also there. For further detail, head over to the G6139CB Falcon detail page on chorder.com, or the Gretsch Guitars official web page.

Gretsch G6139TCB Falcon Center Block Double Cutaway follows the cue of the previous Falcon and delivers practically the same set of specs, only in a double-cut variant. Both of these models are featured in black and white options and cost $4,150. For further detail, head over to the G6139TCB Falcon Double Cutaway detail page on chorder.com, or the Gretsch Guitars official web page.

Gretsch G5622T-CB Electromatic Center Block is the only one of six models to feature three humbucking pickups in it`s electronics department. Other than that, it is a regular Center Block six-stringer with a maple/spruce body, set in maple neck and a  22-fret rosewood fingerboard. It costs $1,249.
