Epiphone Introduces the New Sheraton II PRO

In an epic clash of modern technology and vintage ES design, Epiphone`s Sheraton II PRO delivers what can be considered the best semi-hollow deal out there.

Epiphone has a long history and huge reputation in semi-hollow guitar world. In fact, back in the sixties, Epiphone`s semis were the greatest competition Gibson`s ES models had to face, with legends like John Lee Hooker and many others preferring the Dots and Sheratons over 335s and 339s. Introduced in 1959, both the Epiphone and Gibson semi-hollows were based on the early solid-body designs of Les Paul. Gibson`s luthiers then perfected the construction and developed the design into the revered semis we now know. These new and exciting guitars were featured in both catalogs from the very beginning, with Gibson models being the flagship division. Epiphone, on the other side, catered to the lower portions of the market with their models. Dot was based on the ES-335, Sheraton shared its platform with the compact 345 and Casino was ES-330`s doppelganger. Today in 2015, a decade and a half into the 21st century, Epiphone`s semi-hollows are still active and still offer huge value for the invested money. The latest example is the magnificent Sheraton II PRO.

Epiphone Sheraton II PRO comes with a vintage thinline body made of laminated maple and a five-piece maple/walnut neck. Rounded cutaway horns, sculpted top and vintage “f” holes are a nod to the early Sheraton models. Two-piece bridge unit plated in gold, two Probucker pickups with gold covers and the elevated pickguard are found on the crème-bound top. Maple and walnut neck is fit with the original slim taper profile in the back and a 22-fret fingerboard on top.
