Guitar Effects: Compressor

Guitar Effects: Compressor Compressor loudens the electric guitar signal by reducing (compressing) any loud signal peaks. Compression ratio is the amount of compression applied to a signal. 2:1 compression ratio means that the signal over threshold set is reduced by one half. So, when using compressor you will subjectively sound louder and more cohesive. It will also make life a lot more easier for your guitar amp as the signal it receives will be more even.

Compressor guitar pedals are cheap at Ebay, check out the prices.
