Models of Yamaha`s now discontinued RGX line was a bright example of what a proper rock guitar should looks and sound like. Sophisticated design, versatile tone suited for a wide range of genres and styles, and an impeccable build quality were their strongest selling points. Among them, RGX520 stood out as the most versatile model with dual humbuckers. Passive and standard-sized, these Alnico pups offered a balanced tone with even output and loads of sustain. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprised their controls. Body beneath them had a slightly updated Strat contour, as well as a carved top. Mahogany/flamed maple telo was coupled with a set in mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard on top (22 frets with a custom 12th fret inlay).
