55 series is the upscale variant of the 33 line and it is the top solid-bodied series in Vox catalog. Bodies of the 55 series come in single and double-cut variants, as well as in various tonewood combinations. Basically, the players can choose from three top options which are all installed on the solid (both single and double-cut) mahogany base. Depending on the top option, color palette changes. Ash and plain maple tops have two color options each, while the flamed maple top has as much as four color options. Series standard includes gloss finish on all color schemes, as well as the chrome hardware. Vox hardtail bridge is fronted with CoAxe pickups. Set in neck on this model is made of mahogany and it is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
