Vintage Modified series deals with guitars and basses based on the classics from Fender`s rich history. These models are then infused with some modern features, most notably in the electronics section. Vintage Modified Squier `51 comes with a solid and double-cut Stratocaster body made of basswood. It is covered with a pre-Strat era pickguard (the type that was used on the early Precision models) and paired with a bolt-on maple neck. The neck is outfitted with a standard C profile in the back and a 21-fret maple fingerboard on top. Pickups section of this affordable modern classic rocks a Hot Humbucking pickup in the bridge and a slanted Standard Single-Coil Strat pickup in the neck. Volume knob with a push//pull switch and a three-way rotary pickup switch grant the players an unusually wide palette of styles.

This is one of the most interesting low budget guitars I've ever played, and I own a few. It's well put together, the pickups rock, the action is solid, and the intonation was SPOT ON, (never happens) straight out of the box. Wow! I shove it through a Boss ME 25, and it can kick some serious butt. Had to work on the fret ends, but apart from that it's thoroughly satisfactory. Retro as all get out. Serious cool.
