Standard Strat in lefty variant comes with the same exact specs as it`s right-handed counterpart. It features the standard solid, double-cut body made of agathis. Agathis is the series standard tonewood, mainly due to it`s affordability and tone quality ratio. Together with maple--made necks, it forms a solid base for that classic Fender tone players expect from Squier`s Standard series models. This Standard Strat is available in multiple color options. All are finished in gloss and matched with chrome hardware. Bridge on this model is the standard non-locking tremolo. In it`s front, Squier installs a set of three passive single-coil pickups. Standard controls unit is featured with them. Neck is made of maple and it`s topped with a standard 21-fret rosewood fingerboard.

Okay for the money - the wood feels cheap (read light) but it does not matter to me - I have changed the picups to mexico standards - i sound like the standard series now. Opening the guitar to change picups you immediately see see that this is an entry level guitar - the compononents are of poor quality and the paintjob questionable...however, at the price not much should be expected. Also it has only two springs in the tremolo-system. This can affect tuning. Pricewise this is an incredible instrument - I own much more expensive Fenders, yet often I choose to play my squier. I do, however miss the lack of weight in the wood, which in a strange way minimizes playbility. If it was stolen I would proberly miss it without replacing it. It is a bargain ready to be costumized. Love the colour, love the sound, love the feel ($).
