Fender`s most popular models, Stratocaster, Telecaster and Precision Bass were all introduced way back in 1950s and have remained among the most popular and most attractive instruments for six full decades. Classic Vibe series celebrates the rich history of these and other Fender models with affordable prices, period correct tone and appointments. This particular model is a `50s Strat. It is made of alder body and maple neck. The most popular tonewood combo in Fender history, found on this Classic Vibe six-stringer is matched with a set of vintage-styled single-coil pickups. These come with the standard controls unit for a full vintage Strat experience. Non-locking trem bridge is installed on the top of the body. Bolt-on maple neck is topped with a 21-fret maple fingerboard.

This comes with AlNiCo 3 pickups and these are seriously well sorted allowing the guitar to offer clearly defined tones, whilst all totally Strat-like, nevertheless give superb flexibility.....country twang to plummy jazz and all points in between. Great set up from box, no need to tweek anything. Very well built and the finish is just superb. I currently own an American Telacaster and have, in the past, owned a Mexican Strat and played a number of American Strats. This Squier is the equal of any of them. I can find nothing, no matter how hard I look, to make me think this is anything other than a top class Fender instrument, even the amber tint to the neck/fretboard gives it that totally desirable authenticity. Ten out of ten!!! Enough said. I can't believe that forty years ago I stood gawping in music shop windows at guitars that cost £200 at that time. Bear in mind that this was 3 months pay for me then. The Strats and Les Pauls on offer may be desirable now but in terms of quality they come nowhere near this Squier. There were no computer controlled jigs then and now the state -of-the-art Chinese factories are building instruments simply unobtainable in terms of quality and value back then. OK.....I'm getting on now but this is guitar-heaven!!

Best for money. When I first played it, it was hard to believe it was made by Squier. If I did a blind test, I couldn't figure out which one was Squier CV 50s and which one was Mexican Fender standard.
