Squier family of signature artists grows by year, with some of the already established stars having their artist lines expanded. For 2012, Squier brings Avril`s second signature model, as the first one hit the bull`s eye. This new Avril Telecaster with skull and crossbones kicks of with a solid, single cutaway body made of basswood. As the Tele tradition regulates, the top is flat and features no binding. The pickguard featured on this model is a three-ply black/white/black. This matches the color scheme, which is black gloss with black hardware. The Bridge on Avril Tele is a Stratocaster-styled hardtail with string-through-body construction and black paint. Pickup section features only one, bridge pickup, it is a standard humbucker for Fender and Squier guitars. In the controls section, there is only master volume and a three-position blade switch. The switch is actually a coil split switch. The first position using only rear coil, middle position toggles both coils and forward position uses only the front coil. The neck is a usual Fender/Squier feature, it is made of maple with C contour and bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 1.65" synthetic bone nut and 9.50" radius. 25-1/2" scale, black hardware and die-cast tuners complete the list of specs for Avril Tele. The MSRP is set at $479.99.
