The S in the name stands for Sustainiac, a special humbucker made by Seymour Duncan and featured on selected Schecter models in the neck positions to compete with other brand`s sustain improving pickups. One of the most prominent rival sustain pickups is Fernandes Sustainer. Synyster Gates Custom-S Left Handed is a double cutaway model made of mahogany body and mahogany neck. The body is bound in black and features black color with silver pinstripes, which is Syn`s signature color scheme. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and is equipped with comfortable shape, ultra access lower cutaway and contoured heel. The bridge on this model is a Floyd Rose 1000 series double locking bridge with a locking nut at the end of the neck. The fingerboard is made of ebony and features 24 extra jumbo sized frets and Syn custom inlays with death bat at the 12th fret. he pickup combo has earned this model an extra letter in the name. The bridge pickup is Seymour Duncan passive Invader humbucker, and in the neck position sits Sustainiac, a pickup that is both a pickup and sustain driver. The controls for these pickups consist of master volume, master tone, three-way toggle switch, on/off mini toggle and a three-way mini toggle for Sustainiac`s normal, mix and harmonic mode.
