Omen series is among the basic ones in Schecter`s catalog. It offers basswood bodies, bolt-on necks and Duncan designed pickups. All in all, these are pretty decent guitars for players who can not afford a Hellraiser or Blackjack. 2013 issue of the Schecter catalog reveals one novelty, it is Omen Active 8, a juggernaut 28"-scaled beast with eight strings. This model features above mentioned Duncan Designed pickups with a basic controls unit to follow them. These pickups are made and adjusted for the eight-stringed guitars and represent one of the best options in budget-friendly region of the market. Controls unit has master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Bridge section features a hardtail bridge with eight adjustable saddles and string-through body construction. Body of Omen Active 8 is made of basswood in it`s entirety. It is solid, double-cut and carved on the top. Black and satin black color schemes are available and both cone with creme binding. There`s no top wood cover installed on this model. Neck is made of maple and it`s bolted to the body. It is topped with a standard 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
