Damien is one of the basic ranges of the Schecter catalog. It`s usual role is to support the Blackjack and Hellraiser ranges, as they battle in the upper intermediate and high class. Damien provides the support in lower intermediate and intermediate classes. But, recently, through the Platinum series, Damien range has reached the upper intermediate class. The newest addition to the series, Damien Platinum 9 is a gargantuan nine-stringed axe with a super long 30" scale and augmented EMG 909 humbuckers. Solid and double-cut body of this unique metal axe is made entirely of mahogany. Carved top and the flat back are both made of it. Top is bound in silver/platinum binding and rocks the super powerful EMG909 pack of active humbuckers. These two produce a tone close to what might be imagined as the sonic representation of the apocalypse itself, featuring beyond-the-words lows, scooped mids and searing highs. Super simple controls unit is made up of a maser volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Three-piece maple neck features the necessary carbonite reinforcements in order to deal properly with nine strings and 30" of scale length. Neck accessibility is hugely increased with a supper access cutaway. In the back, the maple neck is fit with a surprisingly comfy thin C contour, while the top is graced by a bound fingerboard made of rosewood. It has 24 extra jumbo frets with bat inlays, 20" radius and 2.50" wide graphite nut. Grover tuners, hardtail bridge with string-through construction and super fast control knobs complete the specs list. All in all, this huge axe is made for the few brave and bold ones able to handle it`s almost bass-like size and harness it`s unbelievable growl.
