SGR By Schecter is a line of super affordable (around $200) electric guitars packed with Schecter styling, Schecter hardware and also Schecter electronics. As opposed to the residents of the more expensive series which come from Indonesia, Korea and Schecter`s native US of A, SGR models are made and assembled in China.
Basic C-1 model comes with a solid and double-cut body made of basswood. When combined with a maple neck (which is about 90% of the time) basswood bodies give a warm, dense tone, while keeping the body fairly light. Maple neck adds the crisp to the tone. Also, maple is easy to work with and is very durable. Neck on this model rocks the classic C profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
Two Schecter Diamond Plus pickups will be more than enough for every beginner interested in hard rock/heavy metal. String-through-body tune-o-matic bridge and Schecter tuners complete the specs list.
