Blackjack SLS series is getting some mighty six and seven-string updates for the upcoming fall 2012 season. Models include one avenger and two Vs. Passive pickups, active pickups, Floyd Rose bridges and tune-o-matic bridges, all in flawless Blackjack SLS package. This particular model is a seven-stringed V with active humbucking pickups, it`s name is Blackjack SLS V-7 Special Edition. Body of this model comes with V contour and it`s made of solid mahogany. Construction-wise, it features ultra-access and set-in neck joint. Schecter does not install a pickguard on this model, as pickguards are almost non-existent throughout the Schecter`s catalog. Also, there is no top wood veneer. Bridge section is one of the most simple, it features a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body construction. Maximum sustain and stability are guaranteed with this construction and Schecter`s locking tuners on the other side of the 26-1/2" scale. Pickups on this Blackjack SLS are provided by Seymour Duncan and are named Active Blackouts, the combo that has shaken very foundations of the legendary EMG 81/85 combo. Adapted for seven-string guitars, these Blackouts are controlled with a master tone, separate volume knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of three pieces of maple, which is Blackjack SLS standard feature. It has slim contour and set-in joint with ultra access construction. This neck is topped with another standard SLS feature, the ebony fingerboard. Fingerboard is equipped with 24 extra jumbo-sized frets with offset dot inlays. Hardware on this model is plated in black chrome. Color palette is not very rich, it is limited to Crimson Red Burst with satin finish. The MSRP for this special seven-stringed V is set at $1,299.
