Empire series from Richmond guitars is offering an intermediate alternative to the hugely popular Les Paul segment of the market. In battle with countless Les Paul replicas, copies and LP-inspired single-cuts, Richmond`s Empire can not hope to surpass some of the most popular models, but it can certainly offer a good tone and more than decent construction quality with a bit conservative design. Body of the standard Empire model is solid, single-cut and made of poplar. Black, Natural Raw and Cream color options are available for the Empire six-stringer. One-piece hardtail bridge is the classic wrap around stopbar, known from the basic Gibson LP models. Active Godin humbucker is in the bridge, with single-coil pickup being featured in the neck position. Bolted mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
