Peavey PXD Devin Townsend Vicious Review

Peavey and Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad have joined forces to produce this seven-stringed metal axe. PXD Vicious Devin Townsend is a solid-bodied with V contour. Beveled edges and flat top panel are featured on this body. Also, it sports neck-through body construction and maple cap on top. Mahogany is used for the wings of this PXD`s body. Beveled edges are painted in black, as opposed to the body`s gun metal grey with gloss finish. There are no pickups or carvings featured on the top of this body. Bridge section is one of the most simple and reliable available today. It consists of a tune-o-matic bridge with strings running through the body behind the bridge. It ensures maximum tuning stability in combination with locking tuners installed on the headstock in 3 + 4 formation. Pickups featured in the electronics department are provided by EMG. Seven-string EMG81 is in the bridge and seven-string SA single coil pickup is placed in the neck position. Master volume knob and three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the simple and effective controls unit. Neck is made of hard rock maple and it sports an ebony fingerboard on it`s top. 24 jumbo frets are marked with custom Devin Townsend inlay at the 12th fret and phosphorescent side markers. Scale of this baritone V measures 28 inches in length.
