Signature Limited 2012 is a result of 2011`s limited run of 100 Private Stock Signature guitars popularity. As they were sold out quickly, management of PRS decided to make an additional run of 400 guitars. These guitars are represent the current pinnacle of PRS guitar research and experimentation. Signature Limited 2012 starts off with a solid, double cutaway body made of mahogany back and figured maple top. The top is carved and features no pickguards. Black gold, charcoal burst, eriza verde, faded abalone and fire red burst are color options available for this model, and they are all finished in gloss. PRS offers a choice between a stoptail bar and tremolo bridge, both with hybrid plating. Pickups are what launches this model into stratosphere. The combo consists of Signature 408 Treble humbucker in the bridge and Signature 408 Bass humbucker in the neck position. They are different in size in order to narrow the scoop of the bass pickup and increase it`s focus, and on the other side to expand the field of treble pickup and give it a wider tonal range. Controls are made up of master volume, master tone, three-way toggle switch and two mini switches. Neck is made of mahogany and features a pattern contour. It is attached to the body via the set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of bound rosewood with 22 frets and bird inlays. Other features include: 25" scale, hybrid hardware and PRS tuning machines.
