Paul Reed Smith P24 Review

PRS is known for the outstanding quality of their products. Their electrics, acoustics and basses are highly acclaimed as instruments with class and style. PRS is currently focused on the exploration of the combo between piezo pickups and solid bodied electric guitars. P24 is the second model, following the previously released P22 with piezo system combined with regular pickups. P245 comes with a classic PRS double cutaway body made of mahogany back and figured maple top. Top panel is beautifully carved and finished in high gloss. Top is available in multitude of color options. Bridge section is rather simple at first glance. A singular unit is installed and it is a stoptail bar with wrap-around system. But, underneath the surface, it conceals L. R. Baggs piezo pickup. Regular pickups department is equipped with a pair of humbucking pickups. 53/10 Treble is in the bridge and 53/10 Bass is in the neck position. Controls include volume and tone knobs, three-position blade switch and PRS/L. R. Baggs control system for the piezo pickup. Neck is made of mahogany and it features the pattern contour in the back. It is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. It comes with 24 frets with vintage bird inlays. Other features include 25" scale and gold-plated PRS tuners.
