Neal Schon was and still is among the most influential guitar players in past 30 years. His distinctive style and incredible emotion have propelled the sound of Journey to super stardom. Neal`s tone was always superbly smooth and combined with masterful phrasing. He is one of the players known for the abundant use of Floyd Rose tremolo systems, which have found their way to Neal`s new signature models from PRS. There are two models introduced for 2013 and this article is dedicated to the NS-14. It is a semi-hollow guitar with single-cut body design. Body of this superb six-stringer is made of curly maple back, mahogany sides and spruce sound board. Top is bound in creme and carved with a pair of "f" holes. Bridge section is equipped with already mentioned Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo bridge. It is plated in nickel. Classic 57 humbuckers are made by PRS and installed in H/H pattern. Standard controls unit follows them. Neck on this model is made of mahogany, it`s set in and equipped with Neal Schon contour in the back. On it`s top PRS installs a 22-fret fingreboard made of rosewood. It is decorated with bird inlays.
