DC3 is one of the rare Strat-like models in PRS catalog. The dominant Les Paul double and single-cut models comprise the vast majority of the catalog and are the most popular models made by this distinguished brand. However, this does not exclude other shapes and styles. DC3 is a Strat-styled double-cut guitar with a solid, flat body made of alder. There is no top wood for this model and also no binding around the top. Classic nickel-plated hardware is featured on this model. Bridge is a non-locking tremolo with six saddles and string-through construction. In it`s front, PRS installs a set of three single-coil pickups. The neck is made of maple and it`s bolted to the body. 22-fret fingerboard is made of maple.

I recenlty purchased a DC3. Most people want to know "does it sound like a strat" and the answer is "no", it sounds like a PRS. The pickups are slightly warmer with less noise in the neck and bridge pickup. What sold me on this over other single coil builders is the quality and playability. The neck is very comfortable and it plays great right out of the box. I usually bring my new guitars immediatley to my tech for set-up work but this one needs no tweeking. Tone: I tried out a bunch of other single coil guitars and this one had the tone I was looking for, very "stratty" but less hum. I'd highly recommend this guitar. Best single coil guitar I found under 2000 bucks. To me, this was a bargain. Also, PRS finish are the best I've seen.
