509 concept is based on a clever mix of traditional PRS construction & design features and modern electronics & hardware. The name of this intricate and supremely versatile axe comes from five single-coil pickups and nine unique tones which they offer. Core series 509 starts off with a solid mahogany body base, figured maple top (two-piece construction, creme binding, classic PRS contour), mahogany neck (glued to the body, Pattern Regular profile) and rosewood fingerboard (22 jumbo frets, birds inlays, 25.25" scale). This super-versatile axe also features a diverse color palette (numerous solid and burst finishes are available). 509`s bridge and neck humbuckers feature separate coil-splitting switches which enable the players to dial in every style from mellow jazz to scorching metal. PRS`s Gen III Trem bridge and Phase III tuners complete the specs list.
