Sting Ray series deals with vintage-styled electric guitars. Currently, there are two models in the series lineup, StingRay I and StingRay II. Both of these models are shaped after Fender`s '50s models. StingRay I is a solid, double-cut guitar with body made of alder. It comes with a flat top, contoured back and bolt-on neck joint. There`s a black plastic pickguard installed on top of the body. This solid six-stringer is equipped with chrome-plated hardware. Six in-line tuners are installed on a vintage-styled headstock. Bridge is a hardtail with string-through-body construction. In it`s front, there are two passive humbuckers installed. Neck is bolted to the body and it`s made of maple. 22-fret fingerboard is made of maple.

I own a 1976 Stingray 1 Guitar, first run number 39. I've had it since 1976 when I purchased it at the Daly City Guitar Center store. Put down a deposit about four months in advance. The wait was excruciating even though I was not a player. It's a fine instrument. I need some assistance, please. I live in Hawaii and with the high humidity electrical devices sometimes pick up corrosion that upsets the switches and pots. I was getting ready to clean mine and five of the wires connecting the pots and jack to the preamp broke off. Guess what? I wasn't expecting that so I did not create a schematic and when I re=-wired I sot it wrong. No sound out to the amp. Did not notice anything blow. If someone has a diagram so I can put it back right, please send me the location or the diagram. If someone has one and has the time to open it up and sketch the sequence that will be fantastic. I have run into a financial mess and have to sell the instrument. I like the review it seems to be accurate, comprehensive and interesting. Hope someone out there can help. Aloha and good playing!!
