Axis Super Sport belongs to the highly acclaimed Axis series in Music Man catalog. It features a very interesting single-cut body, which looks like a mix between the Telecaster front and Les Paul rear. Also, construction-wise, it represents a mixture of these two legendary axes. IT is flat on top, but features a bolt-on joint. Back of the body is made of basswood, while the top is a koa veneer. It is bound in creme and finished in high gloss. Hardware on this six-stringer is plated in chrome. Bridge is Music man`s standard hardtail with a pair of passive DiMarzio humbuckers installed in the front. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. bolted maple neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

Excellent build quality and tone for the price. The five way switching sets it apart from the standard Axis (3 way). The Super Sport delivers tone from Strat like to deeper LP types. Music Man and PRS both set the standard for todays guitars Check around, you will not find a brand that offers substanitially more value in use than Music Man Excellent

I bought new Axis SS with piezo 1 month ago. I am totally disapointet about harware. Firstly, the 6 screws were missing where the plug in for jack cable is - there were only 2 screws. Secondly, after 2 days of playing, the volume knob stop responding, sometimes it crackles... The volume knob is crackling while turning and there is no volume on some positions. Thirdly, 5 ways swicther became very soft and smooth and I can not set it on properly position. I wait now for new parts from U.S.A., because I live in Europe. The guitar is under warranty, but anyway. Music Man should not afford this.... Not thinking on that issuses, the guitar is perfect. I hope, I ll fix it soon as possible...
