8 You all know what features it has...Ive got musicman, ibanez prestige, charvel san dimas etc...this guitar is NOT as nice as these are but its still a very nice guitar. The wood is solid and heavy giving it a nice tone, the neck is very nice and playable. The trem is a quality item, very much like a Jackson Floyd, which is the best copy of a floyd Ive played! The pickups could be a little better...but they are OEM pups that are not Dimarzios or Duncans...so they are really pretty good. Its just a solid guitar for the money...easily equal to middle quality Ib's or Jacksons of the same price range. The guitar is a pretty well built axe. All of the hardware is solid, it came with Strap locks standard..that says alot! It has one fret that was a tad high....I like my action lower and thats the only thing I had to do to it. Id say its a great value....not only for the money but for more than I paid for it. This is my 3rd laguna........so yes, if it were stolen Id replace it with another. It plays well, stays in tune well...even after being beaten! :D It sounds good for OEM pups and offers quite an array of sounds, given the coil tap. Very nice neck ...just a nice guitar.

I've been a guitarist for roughly 30 years and I've owned, at one time or another, probably just as many guitars. I was looking for a something with a wide-range of sounds, something that could go from metal, to jazz, to clean. After about two weeks of popping in and out, playing everything in sight, a "pro" at GC suggested I try one of the low-end Lagunas, the 322, and I loved it. Since the price was so low, I asked about their high-end models. The 924 had just come out, but of course, wasn't in stock. After another week, the guy called me to tell me they had a 524, the "old high-end", come in. And went, played for about 30 min and bought it. For the price, $500, it beat out any other similiarly designed model in the house...and remember, I played so many, I lost count. The quality it top-notch. Reading the article/review above was shocking. Did the writer actually play one before writing it? Does someone at Laguna owe him money?? Mincing words in such a manner just killed their credibility in my opinion. If you can find one and want a good all-around guitar, buy one. The 524, 322/300, and 924 models are all exemplary instruments and well worth their price.

This guitar is an incredible value. Heavy Louisiana swamp ash, a deep indian rosewood fretboard and beautiful carved AAA flamed maple top give this guitar incredible feel and tone. Even with the stock pickups and the right amplification this thing can go from tennessee blues to heavy distorted wailing using just the tone controls on the guitar. The model that replaced this guitar in the Laguna lineup is not made with nearly the same quality of materials. THis guitar was made for a pretty short time...if you get the chance to pick one up you should.

I can make it sound like any HH Gibson, and very close to a Fender Strat and Tele. OK guys, can you put the gun down now......?
