Only a handful of metal guitars have a history as rich as Jackson`s Soloist. Over the course of thirty-some years of its history, it has managed to become a synonym for double-cut metal guitar. A feat unparalleled in the guitar universe. Soloists today form the backbone of the Jackson catalog, along with several other models (Kelly, King V, RR, etc), and are present in all of its tiers. X series features a load of Soloist models (most of them introduced in 2015), and in 2016 is becoming richer for a few more.
2016 version of X Series Soloist SLATTXXMGQ3-6 comes in Transparent Red Burst, Burnt Cherry Sunburst and Transparent Purple. Its solid and double-cut body is made of basswood wings and maple neck running between them. The neck is equipped with a speed profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (jumbo frets, Sharkfin inlays, 1-11/16" nut and compound 12"-16" radius).
EMG`s 81/85 set is the centerpiece of this affordable Soloist. One volume, one tone and a three-position switch make up the controls. Combined with basswood/maple base, these pickups offer a warm, bassy tone with a huge presence and come-back-tomorrow sustain. String-thru tune-o-matic bridge and Jackson`s die-cast tuners keep it simple and tight in the hardware section, as well.
