Universe is one of two signature series made for Steve Vai. Steve is one of the most important and most popular signature artists in history of Ibanez and his signature line is one of the most populous ones in the catalog. UV7 is very similar in concept to classic Steve Vai JEM guitars, it`s solid, flat, double cut and made of basswood, but it features seventh string. It is available in black and does not have the signature "handle" hole. Bridge section is equipped with a seven-string variant of the Edge trem system. Pickups are made by DiMarzio and are installed in H/S/H configuration. Controls unit is a basic one. Set maple neck on this seven stringer is very slim and comfortable, even though it`s a bit wider. It`s topped with a standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
