With the advent of modern metal genres which rely heavily on drop tunings, the regular six-string guitar needed to be reimagined, reconstructed and reinvented. Enter the RGD, legendary RG`s close sibling, made especially for players who utilize drop tunings. 2018 Ibanez lineup features only one new RGD - 3127 Prestige. It is a luxurious, made-in-Japan seven-stringer built with top-class tonewoods, Gotoh hardware, and DiMarzio pickups. Pearl White Flat is currently the only available color option. Core construction features include a solid basswood body (beveled top, no pickguard, no binding), a 5-piece maple/wenge neck (w/titanium reinforcement rods), a birdseye maple fingerboard (24 jumbo frets, black dot inlays, 1.89" locking nut, 26.5" scale), a Lo-Pro Edge bridge, the badass Fusion Edge humbuckers, and Gotoh tuners.
