RGA42FM is a model from the highly acclaimed RGA series of solid-bodied electric guitars made by Ibanez. Purpose of this series is to offer high quality guitars with solid, double cut bodies and carved tops, as opposed to the RG series with flat top construction. Another big difference is the choice of the body wood. Basswood dominates the RG series and mahogany dominates the RGA. RGA42FM has a body made of mahogany base with a carved maple top. Top is made of flamed maple and it`s finished in high gloss. Fixed bridge on this model is from the Gibraltar series and it features string-through construction. Active humbuckers are installed on this model. Maple neck on this model is made with wizard contour and it`s topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
