In Last 25 years RG series of solid bodied electric guitars is maybe the most successful one on the entire market. RG arsenal is oriented mainly towards metal and players who prefer shred styles of playing. RG is divided into several sub-series, the Prestige, Premium, Tremolo and Fixed. Prestige is the top series, with Premium right next to it. Tremolo and Fixed serve as entry level series with tremolo and fixed bridges, respectively. This time around Ibanez introduces a fixed bridge juggernaut with 8 strings and 27" scale, it`s name is RG8. It comes with a solid and flat double cut body made of basswood. This body is then paired with a five-piece maple/walnut neck. Top of the body is stripped down and does not feature any binding, pickguards or top wood covers. Bridge section features a fixed Gibraltar bridge with eight saddles and string-through construction. In it`s front, Ibanez installs a pair of active humbuckers made especially for the 8-string guitars. Master volume, master tone and three-position blade switch complete the controls unit. Five-piece maple/walnut neck is equipped with Wizard contour and bolt-on joint. On it`s top a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard is installed. It has white dot inlays, 15.75" radius and 2.16" wide string nut. Hardware is black on both the black and white color options.
