RG`s 450 models are the successors of once popular RG350 models. 450 axes have inherited almost identical specs lists and options, with the notable exception being fingerboard radius, some body and neck measures and construction quality. Other than that, design is pretty much the same (450 models are not radically different, only minor retouches of the 350 design were made). For 2014, Ibanez refreshes the workhorse tier of the RG domain with several new models and the basic RG450DX is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut basswood body and a bolt-on maple neck. Basswood body is flat and thick (considering that it`s RG Tremolo`s all-round model, RG450DX has a thick body) and is available in two color options. Starlight Blue and Black comprise the color palette. Both have white pickguards and gloss finish. Locking Edge tremolo bridge is fronted with a set of three passive Ibanez Infinity pickups. Volume, tone and five-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Three-piece maple neck is topped with a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. The strongest points of this model are it`s affordability/quality ratio and most impressive versatility. Also, thanks to the thin Wizard contour, neck on this model is among the fastest and finest in under $500 class.
