RG Standard is the most affordable among the regular branches of the RG range. Also, there`s a line of GIO RG models, which costs even less than the cheapest RG Standard model. Both fixed-bridge and tremolo models now comprise the Standard series, with RG421M being on the hardtail side (all RG models with numerical designations ending with 1 have hardtail bridges). It is available in the elegant Weathered Black (w/satin finish, chrome hardware, black headstock veneer). Model highlights include an all-mahogany body (flat-top contour, deep cutaway), a maple neck (three-piece construction, recessed bolt-on joint, Wizard III contour), a 24-fret maple fingerboard (jumbo frets, black dot inlays, 1.69" nut, 25.5" scale), fixed bridge (string-through-body construction), passive Quantum pickups, and die-cast tuners.
