Eight-string are not exactly the newest concept, nor they are completely new to Ibanez, but this guitar can be ranked as a pioneering model. RG2228 from the RG Prestige series sets the standards so high, that other manufacturers will have to give their best to compete with it. It comes with a solid, double cut body made of basswood. Body is solid, double cut, flat and has no binding. Black color scheme on this one is finished in high gloss. Bridge section features an Edge tremolo system. it is a double locking trem system with top-load construction. Pickups are active and are installed in the H/H configuration. Neck on this one is made of maple, it`s bolted to the body and it`s topped with a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
