After the huge success of the legendary M8M model, Meshuggah and Ibanez continue their cooperation and mission to create the ultimate eight-string guitar for all the metalheads out there. This time around, experiences, impressions, results and core concept of the retired M8M model were taken as a basis and built upon with a fresh vision and supreme enthusiasm. On the first glance, M80M might be mistaken for the M8M, but the experienced players will not be fooled by similar spartan design and styling, which have become the hallmarks of the Meshuggah signature series. M80M features a solid, flat-top RG body made of ash in it`s entirety. It is paired with a bolt-on neck made of five laminates of maple and walnut. The flat-top body is offered in the now standard Weathered Black color with gloss finish and black hardware. Top of the body is equipped with only bare necessities: eight-saddled Edge III bridge (fixed variant), bridge-positioned Lundgren humbucker and two-piece control unit (master volume and master tone knobs). Maple neck features a slim profile and lies very comfortably in hand, despite it`s 55mm width at nut. 24-fret fingerboard on it`s top is made of rosewood. This giant comes with a borderline bass scale which is 29-2/5" long.
