JS140 is one of two novelties in the Joe Satriani signature series introduced for the NAMM 2015. It comes as the basic 24-fret model in the JS range. The basic formula is shared with the majority of the JS 24 and 22-fret models, which includes a solid, carved-top body, bolted neck with JS profile, rosewood fingerboard and dual-humbucker pickups combo, along with a simple controls unit. Also, a mandatory Edge tremolo bridge is present. JS140 is currently available only in White with gloss finish. Solid and carved body beneath the paint is made of the high grade basswood, traditionally without a separate top cap. Edge tremolo system is Ibanez`s response to the Floyd Rose and Kahler locking trem systems and is, quite possibly, the best of three. Due to the series opener status of this model, Ibanez opts for home-made pickups. Full-sized Quantum humbucker is found in the bridge, while the neck position is reserved for the stacked Infinity RD. Needless to say, these are passive and come with the standard JS series controls layout - master volume, master tone (with push/pull switch) and a three-way toggle pickup switch. One-piece maple neck rocks the standard JS profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Set of Ibanez tuners is found on the headstock.
