Paul Gilbert is one of the true greats of the six strings and a man who needs no introduction. His collaboration with Ibanez has reached it`s 25th anniversary. Over the last quarter of the century, Paul Gilbert`s signature series has seen many magnificent six-stringers come and go and the most recent trend are the models with Fireman shape (reversed variant of the iconic Iceman body). For the 2014 edition of the NAMM Show, Ibanez and Paul Gilbert have introduced the stunning FRM250MF model. It is a solid and double-cut guitar with Fireman contours, set in neck construction, short 24-3/4" scale and passive electronics. Body of this model is made of mahogany back and flamed maple top. Top is bound and is made up of two matching pieces of wood. Natural color with gloss finish and chrome hardware is the only color option for this limited edition six-stringer. Tight tune bridge is paired with a stoptail bar to comprise the classic bridge unit for 24-3/4" scaled guitars. DiMarzio Classic Air humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions are slanted and zebra-coiled to appear as singles. Middle Area 67 pickup is truly a single-coil. Master volume, master tone and a five position blade switch are found in the controls unit. maple/mahogany neck is set in and is topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard with narrow jumbo frets, 1.69" string nut and classic dot inlays.
