AZ series is Ibanez`s take on the classic/modern Stratocaster concept and aims at potential buyers of the American series models. The initial lineup consists of three Prestige models (made in Japan) and three Premium class models (including this one). Premiums cost significantly less than luxurious Prestige models while managing to offer a similar level of quality and tone. AZ224F Premium starts off with a solid, double-cut body (basswood back, flame maple top, no binding, sparkle pickguard), a roasted maple neck (AZ profile, recessed bolt-on joint, ultra access), a roasted maple fingerboard (22 jumbo frets, black dot inlays, 25.5" scale, 1.65" nut, 12" radius), a non-locking tremolo bridge (string-through construction, made by Gotoh), Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups (HSS configuration), and locking Gotoh Magnum tuners.
