Ibanez AF series within the Hollow Guitars department represents the core line and the model upon all other lines are built. The AF series is completely true to the heritage of hollow bodied guitars from the past, and is advertised as a guitar for purists. 2012 brings a new model to the line, the AF85TDG. It is a fully hollow guitar with a cutaway and body made entirely of flamed maple. The top is bound in creme and adorned with two bound "f" holes, one on the either side of the bridge. Elevated pickguard matches the body color. Natural with gloss finish is the only color option for AF85TDG. The bridge section consists of a tune-o-matic bridge with Bigsby VBF70 vibrato and a trapezoid tailpiece with a vintage-styled Ibanez logo. Pickups are active humbuckers in both the bridge and neck positions. ACH2 is in the bridge and ACH1 in the neck position. They are controlled through split volume and tone controls with a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and maple with set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it sports 22 medium sized frets, pearl block inlays, 1.69" wide string nut and 12" radius. 24-3/4" scale and gold plated hardware wrap the specs list for ART85TDG.
