X-185 Manhattan belongs to the newly introduced Newark St Collection made by Guild Guitars. This series is an attempt to fully revive the electric guitar and bass department of the Guild catalog. It made it`s debut at this year`s NAMM show in Anaheim, Ca. Eight models make up the initial lineup of the collection. Seven of them are electric guitars and one is electric bass. One of those seven guitars is X-175 Manhattan and it comes with a gorgeous single-cut body with fully hollow construction. It is made of laminated maple back and sides with laminated spruce sound board on top. Arched top is matched with an arched back panel and both feature white binding. Also, there are "f" holes on the top and an elevated pickguard. Antique Burst color scheme is finished in gloss. Bridge section features a compensated rosewood bridge with trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Guild® "Frequency Tested" Single-Coil pickups with P-90-like housings are installed in the front. Separate volume and tone knobs are featured in the controls unit. Mahogany and maple neck has U contour in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Grover supplies the tuning machines.
