Broadkaster was initially a drum set set by Gretsch back in late `40s/early `50s. When Fender released a two-pickup version of the Esquire (1950), they named it Broadcaster. Gretsch retained the rights to the name Broadkaster and today it graces a line of flagship electric guitars.
