Electromatic series is a collection of mostly hollow-bodied guitars made by legendary Gretsch. Mostly, these guitars are vintage-styled and oriented towards various sub-genres of rock music from '50s and '60s. Also, the series contains several signature models, of which the most prominent are Tim Armstrong models. For the summer of 2012 Gretsch has renewed the Tim Armstrong signature lineup with a brand new set of G5191 models. New G5191TMS is a single cutaway guitar with set neck construction. It is made entirely of five layers of maple. Top panel is bound with several layers of binding and it`s slightly arched. Also, top is carved with a pair of "f" holes. Bridge section is made up of three parts. The front part is an adjust-o-matic bridge wit rosewood base. Middle part is a tremolo bar with Bigsby vibrato arm. And the third is an ornate trapezoid tailpiece with Gretsch logo on it. Entire bridge is, as well as pickups casings and Grover tuning machines, plated in gold. Blacktop Filtertron humbuckers are installed in the pickups department. They are controlled through a set of knobs: master volume, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume, neck tone. Also, there is a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
