SG Standard is the SG. It is the model by which other SGs are measured and positioned within the series. It comes with a solid, flat-top body made of mahogany. Entire body is made of mahogany. It features beveled edges and signature "devil`s horns" double cutaway. Cutaway on the SG models runs pretty deep and the neck is attached at the 19th fret, thus making the access to the upper frets easy. Heritage Cherry and Black are the only color schemes available for this model and they both come finished in gloss. Bridge section is a two-piece, featuring a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. 490R and 498T humbuckers are installed in the front. Set mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

I have a 2010 standard that was made in mid april, and for the price that these come for, it's an amazing deal. The guitar has a rosewood fretboard, corian nut, nashville bridge, standard tailpiece, a covered 490 in the neck and 498 in the bridge position, neck binding, two piece mahogany body and acrylic trapezoid inlays. the only thing I'd complain about is the nut, which is poorly cut.It has 22 frets and 2 tone - 2 volume pots with a 3 way toggle switch. fantastic guitar that hasn't failed me once. could stay in tune longer but that's no huge problem. wouldn't need a backup. for 1200 you can get this guitar. amazing. it wont let me down, and if lost, i'd buy another. A great guitar that can suit any playing style you take it to, action and fit were great for me (except for the nut) and you just glide along it. so easy to play! a buy that you won't regret.

This guitar radiates rock & roll! First guitar I bought following my heart instead of my head. It might not have the sustain of a neck-thru / string-thru but it just oozes nostalgia, plays like a dream and has light speed fast response. This guitar adds significantly to the atmosphere of a band playing live!
